Hans Raj College - An Overview

Hans Raj College is one of the largest constituent colleges of the University of Delhi. This co-educational Institute offers education in all the three streams - arts, science and commerce, and is located on the Mahatma Hans Raj College Road, in a locality named Malkaganj (fairly close to the fashionable & bustling street called 'Bungalow Road' in main Kamla Nagar area) in the University's North campus. The College has been ranked amongst the Top-10 Science, Arts and Commerce Colleges of India several times in the last decade or so.

An institution with academicians imparting education in different fields, the College today has a reputation for performance in academics, sports and extra curricular activities. Through its regular curriculum and its various other extracurricular and co-curricular activities, the college ensures complete development of the body, mind and the soul while enshrining traditional Indian values in each of its students. The college was founded by the D.A.V. College Managing Committee on July 26, 1948 in the memory of Mahatama Hans Raj, a pioneer in the field of education. It is today one of the lights in the D.A.V. family of over 700 institutions and one of the largest constituent college of Delhi University. As of today, in excess of 5000 students on its rolls interact here with scholars of eminence on its faculty. The College has completed 63 years in imparting higher education. It has made contribution to Society in terms of producing dignitaries, scholars, intellectuals and sports persons who served different domains not only in our own country but even at international levels.
